Maligayang Pasko!

Merry Christmas, everyone! From me and C!

Right now we're doing last-minute cooking for Noche Buena, as we did last-minute grocery shopping earlier.

I'm so sleepy and tired, and munching and running on brownies while slow-cooking the Pomodoro sauce. Yummy box of brownies from S&R!

There are also healthy cuts of pork steak waiting their turn on the flame (or charcoal if we still can), shrimps waiting for the Pomodoro sauce and fruit salad chillin' in the fridge.

What about you? What will be on your table at midnight?

Whatever you may be feasting on, just bring out the gluttons in you and devour the food, the Christmas spirit and all the love in your world. Happy holidays!

Pho Hoa's Hot & Sour Seafood Noodle Soup

>> Monday, December 20, 2010

Christmas is coming down so fast that I'm going gaga over all the grocery and gift shopping I still need to do. Add crazy office work and I'm in a frenzy.

But what I really just want to do is anything but. I want to stay home, watch DVDs, eat, sleep, read, write, sketch, go out, loiter, shoot and whatever I can think of.

I'm on vacation mode, when I actually don't have any!

Times like this, I don't need a gum. I need comfort. And one of the top comfort foods I can think of is Pho Hoa's Canh Chua Tom. It's hot and sour pho noodle soup with prawns and pineapples.

This is one of the best cure-all dishes, if you ask me. It cures the blues, colds and flu. It's even a great hangover cure! The hotness and sourness melt all that is evil inside you. Every sip and slurp drive the bad away.

Take it from C. He's crazy about this noodle soup. He would probably eat it everyday if he could!

So if you're on a holiday frenzy, lacking rest, under the weather or recovering from an all-nighter this holiday season, or have the holiday blues, get a bowl at Pho Hoa for Php 195. You'll come out feeling 10 years younger and 10 times happier!

Craving for...Apple Crumble!

Conti's Apple Crumble is a dream. And I want one now! Puhlease!

Omakase in Makati City now open

>> Wednesday, December 01, 2010

Omakase inside the Ayala Triangle Gardens in Makati City is now open. The restaurant is still on its soft opening last time I looked, which means they are only open for lunch and dinner, not before, after nor in-between.

I haven't tried the branch in Makati, but I'm really excited to finally have Omakase there. I can have an Omakase lunch anytime I want!

To those who are as excited as I am, check out Omakase's Jurassic Roll, which has grilled eel on top. I'm telling you, it's not just epic, it's jurassic! (Sorry, it's so corny I couldn't let it pass :P)

When we ordered the Jurassic Roll to simply try it out, we loved it so much we had to get another order right away!

Aside from this newly opened outlet in Makati, Omakase has other branches in Libis and along Tomas Morato in Quezon City, and Alabang Town Center.
