Conti's Trinoma Part I: Main dishes
>> Tuesday, June 01, 2010
I visited Conti's a couple of times recently. It's one of those restaurants that you can rely on every time. Everything on the menu are flavorful, filling and fabulous.
A few years ago, my first visit to Conti's was at their Serendra branch. It's known for having extremely long waiting lines, poor air conditioning and a noisy indoor dining. Those three don't seem to go along with each other. Only, Conti's food offerings are so good that you'd bear with all the evils in the world.
Amazing, because I don't think Conti's spends on advertising at all.
On to the delectable food.
While I don't eat lengua or ox tongue, the Pastel de Lengua with Paella Rice (P245) was a hit to family members who do like lengua a lot.
I, on the other hand, can be a sucker for chicken ala kiev sometimes, so that is one of my favorites. The Chicken ALA Kiev with Garlic Rice (P225)is juicy and flavorful. And take note, "with garlic rice!"

Another favorite is the Baked Prawns with Salad and Japanese Fried Rice (P295). It's absolutely heaven! Think baked mussels prawn-style. At first I thought this dish won't be filling because of the number of prawns but it filled me well. Besides, it's a sin not to have dessert when you eat at Conti's. More on that in my next post!

If you're terribly hungry and want red meat, Grilled Porkchops (2 pcs) with Garlic Rice (P195) and American Grilled Ribs with Garlic Rice or Mashed Potato (P250) are your best bets.
The former has two gigantic porkchops that you wouldn't normally gobble down even when you're at home. This dish is almost good for sharing.
The ribs, meanwhile, is covered with a rich sauce. The meat is very tender. The cut is humongous as well.

Conti's Trinoma is just as full as the Serendra branch, especially during meal time. But even on odd hours, expect waiting several minutes for a table and lots of traffic by people buying cakes and pastries to go. After all, desserts at Conti's are just as heavenly as the entrees, which is why they deserve their own blog entry.
Conti's also has Family and Party size servings that are good for eight and 15 people, respectively. They offer catering services as well. You can even buy dips, dressings, sauces, spreads and frozen food.

I so love Conti's especially their roast beef, baked salmon, linguine in pesto with seafood and chicken pie. Their cakes are divine too.. our faves are Mango Bravo, Choco Overload and Turtle Pie! Their Black Velvet cake is yummy also.
